ZeroTrace Mobile

Settings, data & legal

How ZeroTrace Mobile is organized, what the debug log redacts, the first-run consent, and the on-device privacy model.

Settings is where the app's maintenance tools, diagnostics, and legal information live, and where the privacy model is spelled out.

Settings sections

Settings is organized into clear sections so nothing is buried:

SectionContents
AboutApp version and device information. Tap the version row five times to unlock GhostStrats.
AppearanceTheme mode, accent, and the theme builder.
War-DriveWardrive preferences, units, and route style.
MaintenanceDay-to-day fixes (see below).
HelpStep-by-step pairing help for newcomers.
LegalPrivacy Policy, Terms, Responsible Disclosure, contact, and open-source licenses.

Maintenance

The handy one-day-to-day section:

  • Debug logs, view what the app is doing (see below).
  • Reconnect all, fire a reconnect at every paired device at once.
  • Clear pairings, remove all phone-side bonds.
  • Pairing help, the step-by-step pairing walkthrough.

Debug logs

The debug log captures what the app is doing in real time, filterable by level (info / warn / error). The detail that matters is what it does not show: before anything is copied or shared, the log automatically redacts license keys, Wi-Fi passwords, hardware IDs, and passphrases, so a diagnostic never leaks a secret.

Safe to share

For a security tool, that restraint is the whole point. A log you send to support has already had its identifiers and secrets stripped.

On first launch the app asks for consent on a clear authorized-use and privacy screen, you confirm you will only use it on devices and networks you are permitted to test before anything unlocks.

The Legal section then keeps the Privacy Policy, Terms, Responsible Disclosure, and a contact address one tap away, and there is a full open-source licenses screen crediting every library the app is built on.

Privacy and data

The whole app rests on a simple promise: your data stays on your device.

  • On-device: pairings, logs, scripts, and captures all live locally on the phone.
  • No account: there is no login, the hardware key is your credential.
  • No tracking: no analytics or telemetry of any kind.
  • Opt-in only: the only data that ever leaves is a wardrive session you explicitly choose to upload, to a community account you connected yourself.
