Installation
Install the ZeroTrace app on iOS or Android and grant the permissions it needs to talk to your devices.
Installation
The ZeroTrace app is a single app that runs on both iOS / iPadOS and Android. Install it once; it works with every ZeroTrace device you own.
- Install from your app store
On iPhone or iPad, get ZeroTrace from the App Store. On Android, get it from Google Play. It is the same app on both platforms.
- Open the app
The app opens to your device hub, an empty list the first time. This is where every device you pair will live.
- Allow Bluetooth
The app talks to your devices over Bluetooth LE, so it asks for Bluetooth permission on first launch. Allow it, without Bluetooth the app cannot find or connect to anything.
- Allow location (only if you wardrive)
Some features, live GPS wardriving on AirLeak Pro in particular, need location permission. The app asks for this only when you use those features, and location is never collected in the background or shared outside an active wardrive. See Wardrive & location.
- Allow camera (only for license scanning)
Activating a device license uses the camera to scan a QR code. The app asks for camera permission the first time you scan. See Licensing & activation.
Once installed, continue to pairing a device.
The app supports current iOS / iPadOS and Android releases and runs on both phones and tablets. It requires a device with Bluetooth LE, which is standard on all modern phones and tablets.
The app's interface is in English. It reads your phone's region only to apply the correct legal and radio-compliance rules for where you are, it does not translate the interface into other languages.
