No tracking, no accounts, no telemetry. Your data stays on your phone and your devices.
Local-first by design
The ZeroTrace app is built so your data stays with you. There are no accounts to create, no cloud sync you did not ask for, and nothing about how you use the app is sent anywhere.
- No tracking. The app declares no tracking and contacts no tracking services. It does not build a profile of you or your activity, and this is a formal declaration in the app's App Store privacy manifest, not just marketing language.
- No telemetry or analytics. The app does not phone home with usage data.
- No collected data types. The app's privacy declaration lists no categories of data collected about you.
- Local storage. Your devices, captures, routes and settings live on your phone and on your devices, not on a server. There is no account and nothing to sync, so there is no cloud copy of your data to worry about.
- No accounts. You never create a login or hand over an email address to use the app.
Location is used only during an active wardrive, to place your captures on the map, and is never collected in the background outside a wardrive or shared. Bluetooth scanning is configured so it is not used as a proxy for your location. See Wardrive & location.
License keys are held in your phone's secure storage and treated as sensitive, they are never displayed back in plain text. See Licensing & activation.
Region awareness
The app reads your phone's region to apply the correct legal and radio-compliance rules for where you are, some capabilities are gated by region for legal reasons. This is a compliance check, not tracking: the region stays on the device and is not used to identify or follow you.
Exporting your data
Because everything is local, you decide what leaves your phone. When you export a route or a capture, you choose the destination. Nothing is uploaded automatically.
What each family stores
Every family keeps its own captures on-device, in the app and, where relevant, on the hardware itself. AirLeak and AirLeak Pro keep BLE and Wi-Fi capture history and wardrive routes; Echo keeps sub-GHz captures and its signal library; HID keeps saved scripts and run logs. None of it leaves your phone unless you export it, and license keys are the one thing treated as sensitive enough to keep out of plain view entirely, held in secure storage and never displayed back in the clear.
