ZeroTrace USBLogger
Installation
Connect the USBLogger between a keyboard and a computer.
Only use the USBLogger on a keyboard and computer you own or are authorized in writing to test. See Safety & legal.
- Identify the two ports
The USBLogger has a USB-A plug (goes into the computer) and a USB-A socket (the keyboard plugs in). They are physically different so they cannot be mixed up.
- Plug the device into the computer
Insert the USBLogger's plug into a free USB-A port on the host computer. The status light indicates power.
- Plug the keyboard into the device
Connect the USB keyboard to the USBLogger's socket. The keyboard should work normally on the computer.
- Confirm it is running
Type a few keys on the keyboard, then open the live view to confirm they appear.
First-time setup
If this is a brand-new unit, activate your license and (if your keyboard uses an unusual layout) run calibration before relying on the recorded text. See First run.
