ZeroTrace USBLogger

ZeroTrace USBLogger

An inline USB keyboard logger for authorized labs, IT training, and controlled testing — with a live browser view over Wi-Fi.

The ZeroTrace USBLogger is a small inline device that sits between a USB keyboard and a computer. In an authorized lab or training setting it records what is typed on that keyboard and lets you review it live in a web browser over the device's own Wi-Fi. It is hand-assembled and security-tested in Germany.

Authorized use only

The USBLogger is sold for authorized security research, IT training, hardware labs, and testing on equipment you own or have written permission to test. Recording keystrokes on devices or people without consent is illegal in most jurisdictions. See Safety & legal.

What it does

  • Sits inline between a USB keyboard and the host computer.
  • Records the keystrokes typed on that keyboard while it is connected.
  • Serves a live view in a web browser over its own Wi-Fi — no app install, no account, nothing sent to a cloud.
  • Understands many keyboard layouts so the recorded text matches the characters actually typed, with a calibration step for unusual layouts.
  • Can flag terms of interest with keyword and regular-expression matching so relevant lines stand out.

What it is not

  • It is not a general USB analyzer or a storage drive.
  • It does not phone home. Everything stays on the device and on the browser you connect with.

In the box

  • ZeroTrace USBLogger (bare device, no case)
  • Nothing else — you supply the keyboard and the host computer

Each unit ships hand-assembled, security-tested, and pre-flashed with the current firmware.
