Link ZeroTrace devices together into a small local network and see them from the desktop, so one device can work alongside others.
TraceNet
TraceNet is the device-to-device link. It lets ZeroTrace devices that support it talk to one another over a short-range local radio, without any Wi-Fi network, router, or internet in between. From Desktop you can see the devices on that link and manage which ones are part of it.
This is useful when one device should not work alone. Scout devices placed around an area can report back to a central device, extending how much ground a single operator can cover. The devices form their own small network among themselves, and Desktop gives you a window onto it.
What you do from Desktop
- See the linked devices — the other ZeroTrace devices currently on the local link appear in a list.
- Manage membership — bring devices onto the link or take them off it, so only the devices you intend are part of your setup.
TraceNet is provided by the hardware itself, Desktop is the view onto it. On the AirLeak family, this device-to-device mesh is offered by AirLeak Core. The same short-range device-to-device idea appears elsewhere in the line; see HID & Dongle: TraceNet for the mesh on those devices.
TraceNet appears in Desktop only when a connected device supports the local link. Not every ZeroTrace device offers it.
