Using the desktop app
Hand AirLeak Pro to the ZeroTrace desktop app over USB with developer mode, and how to return it to phone control.
Most of the time you drive AirLeak Pro from the phone app over Bluetooth. When you want the ZeroTrace desktop app instead — for its larger operations views, scripting and the App Builder — you hand the device over to a USB connection by switching it into developer mode from the phone app. Developer mode is what lets the desktop app take control over USB serial.
Switch into developer mode
Open AirLeak Pro in the app
Pair and open your AirLeak Pro in the ZeroTrace mobile app as usual.
Open the device's Settings
Go to the AirLeak Pro Settings screen.
Scroll to the Developer section
Scroll to the bottom of Settings. The last section is Developer.
Tap “Serial / developer mode” and confirm
Tap Serial / developer mode. Read the confirmation — it warns that the app will disconnect and all Ops stop — and confirm.
Connect it to your computer
The device reboots into USB serial mode and the phone disconnects (this is expected). Plug the AirLeak Pro into your computer with a USB-C cable and open the ZeroTrace desktop app — see Desktop → Connecting devices.
Return it to phone control
In the desktop app, end developer mode (leave / disconnect the device). The AirLeak Pro reboots back into normal Bluetooth mode and the phone app can pair with it again.
