How AirLeak Pro saves surveys to microSD in a WiGLE-compatible CSV for mapping and import.

When logging is enabled and a microSD card is fitted, AirLeak Pro writes every observation to the card in a WiGLE-compatible CSV file, the widely-used survey format that mapping tools and the WiGLE project understand directly.

What is in the file

Each row records one thing AirLeak Pro heard, with:

  • Its identifier and name, the network name for Wi-Fi, or the device identity for Bluetooth.
  • Its security or type, how a network is protected, or what kind of Bluetooth device it is.
  • Signal strength, band and channel.
  • The location and time it was heard, latitude and longitude from GPS, an accuracy estimate, and a timestamp.

Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth observations go into the same file, with Bluetooth rows tagged so they are easy to tell apart.

Ready to map

Because the file is standard WiGLE CSV, you can:

  • Import it into mapping software to plot everything on a map.
  • Upload it to the WiGLE project or use it with other survey tools.
  • Open it in a spreadsheet to sort and filter your results.

The file the device writes is byte-for-byte the same format the ZeroTrace mobile app exports, so surveys from either source mix freely.

Location accuracy and altitude

Each row carries an accuracy estimate derived from the GPS signal quality. Altitude is not recorded, that column is left empty, which mapping tools handle without issue since they map from latitude and longitude.

Files are made safe to open in a spreadsheet

AirLeak Pro writes the CSV so that network names containing unusual characters cannot misbehave when the file is opened in a spreadsheet, so you can open a survey directly without worrying about malformed rows.
