ZeroTrace HID & Dongle
Compatibility
Which hosts ZeroTrace HID devices work with, and what they need to run.
Compatibility
A ZeroTrace HID device is a standard USB input device, so it works with any host that accepts a USB keyboard, mouse and gamepad, no drivers required.
| Hosts | |
|---|---|
| Operating systems | Windows, macOS and Linux (the device emulates a standard USB keyboard, mouse and gamepad). |
| Drivers | None. The host treats it as an ordinary HID device. |
| USB | Plugs into a standard USB-A port (Dongle direct; full board by cable). |
| Control | |
| App | ZeroTrace mobile app over Bluetooth LE (primary controller). |
| Desktop | Reduced-scope desktop companion for payload management. |
| Phone requirements | A phone with Bluetooth LE and the ZeroTrace app installed. |
Keyboard layouts
The device supports 40-plus keyboard layouts. Set the layout to match the host so the right characters are typed, see ZeroTrace Script.
OS-aware payloads
Because the device can detect the host OS, one payload can adapt to Windows, macOS or Linux rather than needing a separate payload per platform.
