ZeroTrace AirLeak
App Integration
The ZeroTrace mobile app is the only way to control AirLeak, over Bluetooth LE. How the phone and board work together.
App integration
AirLeak is driven entirely from the ZeroTrace mobile app, connected to the board over Bluetooth LE. This is the one and only control surface: there is no web page, no desktop program, and no cable needed after the initial flash. Everything, live scanning, alerts, settings and firmware updates, happens through the app.
What the app does
- Live view. Watch the devices AirLeak hears appear in real time, each identified as fully as AirLeak can manage, see Device intelligence.
- Alerts. Receive follow-me alerts as they happen, so you learn about a possible follower without having to be watching the screen.
- Settings. Adjust how AirLeak behaves, what it prioritizes, and which alerts are on. See Settings.
- Licensing. Activate your license to unlock the full feature set (see below).
- Updates. Install new firmware wirelessly, no cable, over Bluetooth LE.
License and features
AirLeak has two levels of access. Out of the box, an unlicensed board still powers on, pairs and works at a basic level. Activating your license, by entering the key or scanning its QR code in the app, unlocks the full licensed capability set. Your license is tied to the device and carries you through future firmware updates. See Licensing.
Some storefront copy mentions live integration with the ZeroTrace Desktop App. For AirLeak, that is not how it works: this firmware is controlled only by the mobile app over Bluetooth LE, there is no desktop control path in the AirLeak firmware. Desktop-driven capture belongs to AirLeak Pro, which connects to a computer over USB. If you specifically need desktop integration, choose the Pro device.
AirLeak connects to your phone over a standard Bluetooth LE link. Keep the board within Bluetooth range while you want live data or updates; live views pause when the connection drops and resume when it returns.
