ZeroTrace Proxy can act as an MCP server, exactly as ZeroTrace OSINT does. MCP is a common way for AI tools to use each other's capabilities, and turning this on lets another AI tool — such as an assistant you already use elsewhere, or a coding IDE — reach into Proxy and run its tools.
What turning it on does
When you enable the MCP server, Proxy makes its proxy toolset available to a connected AI tool. That tool can then run the same core operations you run in the workbench — checking proxies, extracting them, leak-testing, benchmarking, validating a chain, and the auto-chain builder — and get the same results back. In effect, you are giving your other AI tools access to Proxy's toolkit.
What it exposes
The server exposes the same tools you already have, no more and no less. A connected tool sees the toolset and can run it; it does not gain any capability beyond what Proxy itself can do.
Your choice
The MCP server is off until you turn it on. It exists so you can extend your own workflow, and it stays entirely in your hands — you decide whether to enable it, and you can turn it off again at any time.
Think of the MCP server as a doorway you open when you want another tool to use Proxy's toolset. Nothing reaches your tools through it unless you have opened that door.
