Surveillance Detection is AirLeak Pro's counter-surveillance sweep. It looks specifically for the Bluetooth signatures of devices that watch, record, or track, so you can tell, quickly and quietly, whether any of them are near you.
It's the defensive flip-side of the Ops suite: no transmitting at a target, just a focused listen for a short, named set of surveillance-relevant devices.
A hit means a device broadcasting that signature is within Bluetooth range. It tells you something is present, not who is operating it or why. Treat it as situational awareness.
What it looks for
The sweep runs one target category at a time. The recognized categories are:

Each device that matches comes back with its address, name, signal strength (RSSI), kind, and any extra fields the signature carries, such as a Flipper's color or a drone's UAS ID.
Remote ID is the broadcast "licence plate" many drones are required to transmit. AirLeak Pro reads the BLE form of it and, for basic-ID messages, pulls out the operator-assigned UAS ID, a quick way to notice a drone operating nearby.
Running a sweep
Surveillance Detection is exposed to the mobile app as the detector.scan operation. You pick a target category and a scan window (up to 8 seconds; it defaults to 4). The Pro listens for that window, de-duplicates by address, and returns the matching devices along with how many total devices it heard and how many matched.
Because it's a listening sweep, it briefly takes over the BLE radio, it won't run while a BLE transmit operation (spam, iBeacon, spoof, AirTag decoy) or another client operation (Find My, GATT dump, Ninebot) is in flight. Stop those first.
Like tracker detection, this is most telling on the move. A surveillance device that keeps reappearing across a walk or drive is far more interesting than a one-off hit. Pair it with Tracker Detection for a fuller picture of what's following you.
Limits
Detection depends on a device broadcasting a recognizable BLE signature. A camera or reader that is powered off, out of Bluetooth range, on a different radio, or using an unadvertised protocol won't appear. A match is a strong signal, not proof; a silent sweep is reassuring but not a guarantee. Use it as one input, not the last word.
