Cookies Policy

Which cookies and similar technologies ZeroTrace uses, the legal basis under §25 TDDDG, and how to manage your consent.

Last updated · June 7, 2026

1. Overview

This Cookies Policy explains how ZeroTrace uses cookies and comparable technologies (local storage, session storage) on our website and dashboard, in accordance with §25 TDDDG (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz, formerly TTDSG, in force since 14 May 2024) and Art. 6/7 GDPR.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They allow the site to function, remember your preferences, and analyse usage. We also use local storage (localStorage) and session storage in the browser to keep your cart, currency, and cookie-consent state; this browser storage is not transmitted to our servers. Your language preference is stored in a small first-party cookie (nt_lang) that is sent with requests so we can serve the site in the language you chose. All of these follow the same legal regime as cookies under §25 TDDDG.

3. Categories We Use

  • Strictly necessary, authentication tokens, session, CSRF protection, consent state, language and currency preference, cart contents. Set on the basis of §25(2) TDDDG (technical necessity); cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics (consent-based), privacy-friendly, aggregated usage measurement (Vercel Web Analytics). Loaded only after you give consent and switched off by default.

4. What We Set

  • zt-cookie-consent, local storage, persistent until cleared, stores your consent choices for the strictly-necessary and analytics categories.
  • zerotrace_cart, local storage, persistent until cleared, stores cart contents so they survive page reloads.
  • nt_lang, first-party cookie, up to 12 months, stores your language preference so the site loads in the language you chose; strictly necessary for that functionality.
  • Authentication and session cookies set by the dashboard (*.zerotrace.pw), strictly necessary, lifetime tied to the session or up to 30 days for "stay signed in".
  • Vercel Web Analytics, loaded only after you opt in, cookieless and sets no persistent identifier; it measures aggregate page views and performance and is never loaded if you decline analytics.
  • No third-party advertising, behavioural-tracking, or marketing cookies are set under any circumstance.

5. No Advertising or Cross-Site Tracking

ZeroTrace does not set advertising cookies, behavioural tracking cookies, or third-party marketing pixels.

6. Managing Your Choice

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clicking Cookie settings in the website footer, which reopens the consent banner. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and takes effect for the future. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, see allaboutcookies.org. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will disable authentication and core functionality.

7. Updates

We may update this Cookies Policy to reflect changes to our tooling or applicable law. The current version is always published at this URL.
