Desktop is built to be local-first: your work stays on your computer, not in a cloud account. There is no sign-in and nothing to sync to a server.

Where your work lives#

The apps you build and install, and their version history, are saved on your own machine. Your saved apps are kept encrypted on your machine, so the files on disk are protected and cannot be read or tampered with by other software poking around your folders. This happens automatically, there is nothing to switch on.

Your workbench layout in the App Builder is also remembered between sessions, so the app opens the way you left it.

No account, no activation#

Desktop does not ask you to sign in or activate it. It opens ready to use.

The window#

Desktop uses its own dark theme and a clean, frameless window. It is sized for desktop work, with room to read a capture and edit an app side by side.
