Connecting devices
Plug a ZeroTrace device into your computer with a USB cable and let Desktop recognize it and open the right workspace.
Desktop talks to your hardware over a USB cable. This is the main difference from the mobile app, which connects wirelessly over Bluetooth. A cable connection is steady, needs no pairing, and keeps up with a full, live stream of what the device sees.
Plug in the device
Connect your ZeroTrace device to a USB port on your computer with a data cable. Make sure the device is powered on.
Let Desktop recognize it
Desktop detects the device automatically and identifies which ZeroTrace model it is. You do not choose the device type by hand.
The workspace adapts
Once the device is recognized, Desktop rebuilds its navigation for that model, an AirLeak Pro or Core shows the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capture views; an Echo shows the sub-GHz views. Only the tools that device supports appear.
What Desktop shows per device
The workspace changes with the device, so you always see the right tools:
- AirLeak Pro / AirLeak Core — the capture workspace: Scanner, Live and Capture, Fox Hunt direction finding, device controls, and a terminal view. AirLeak Core additionally exposes TraceNet, its device-to-device link.
- Echo — the Sub-GHz workspace: live signal view, capture, decode, and its counter-surveillance and defense views.
