Your First Payload

Write, upload and run your first ZeroTrace Script payload.

The quickest way to see the device work is a two-line payload that opens a text editor and types a line. Run it against a computer you own.

Open the payload editor
Connect the device in the ZeroTrace app and open the payload editor (the Executor).
Set the keyboard layout
Add a keyboardLayout line for your host's locale so the right characters land, for example keyboardLayout en_US. An unrecognised layout silently falls back to US English, so spell it correctly. See ZeroTrace Script.
Write the payload
A minimal example that waits, then types a line:

keyboardLayout en_US
delay 500
writeLn 'Hello from ZeroTrace'
```
delay pauses so the host is ready; writeLn types the text and presses Enter.
Check it before uploading
Validate the payload in the app. A line with the wrong number of arguments is skipped silently on the device, it is not an error at runtime, so checking first is what catches typos. See Limitations.
Run it
Point the device at a focused text field on the host and run the payload from the app. The device types the line as if you were at the keyboard.
