Using the desktop app

AirLeak is normally driven from the phone app over Bluetooth. To use the ZeroTrace desktop app over USB instead, hand the device over by switching it into developer mode from the phone app.

Switch into developer mode#

1. Open AirLeak in the app

   Pair and open your AirLeak in the ZeroTrace mobile app.

2. Open the device's Settings

   Go to the AirLeak Settings screen.

3. Scroll to the Developer section

   Scroll to the bottom of Settings. The last section is Developer.

4. Tap “Serial / developer mode” and confirm

   Tap Serial / developer mode. The confirmation warns that the app will disconnect and monitoring stops — confirm to continue.

5. Connect it to your computer

   The device reboots into USB serial mode and the phone disconnects (expected). Connect it to your computer over USB and open the ZeroTrace desktop app — see Desktop → Connecting devices.

Return it to phone control#

In the desktop app, end developer mode. AirLeak reboots back into Bluetooth mode and the phone app can pair with it again.
